I have spent three years carefully writing this book after being recruited by St. Thomas' Fire Department. Not only have I researched this material—I have lived it!

This book unlike other firefighting books does not include information such as how much money a firefighter makes and what kind of benefits firefighters are entitled to and so on.  This book is all about STRATEGY, DECISION MAKING, PROBLEM SOLVING, PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE…these are the fundamentals of becoming a firefighter. 

I also discuss trivial topics such as age, understanding minimum requirements, qualifications, hiring process etc.

Rather than focusing on topics that every other firefighting book on market covers I decided to focus on revealing how you should approach your recruitment process, how you can answer tough questions such as what fire school/program you should attend, what courses you should be taking, how to fill out an application and create the ideal cover letter and resume, how to maintain momentum after attending fire school or how to visit fire halls and network yourself.  I show you how to come up with the answers you're looking for and put them into action.
