Kory Pearn was born and raised in London Ontario where he continues to live. Pearn attended school at both Mohawk College in Stoney Creek Ontario and Lakeland College Emergency Trianing Centre in Vermillon Alberta. Pearn has worked as a full time firefighter for the past eight years. He wrote the published  book The Complete Guide to Becoming a Firefighter and is also the creator of the website for firefighter recruits www.becomingafirefighter.com. Prior to becoming a firefighter, Pearn worked as a HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) mechanic. In addition to his full time career and busy website, Pearn also offers his services as a guest speaker at local colleges, writes articles for Firefighting in Canada magazine, consults recruits and recently headed the first Ontario Firefighter Career Expo in London Ontario. 

My commitment to firefighter recruits has grown stronger as well as my presence as a resource for recruits over the last couple of years. Devoting time to visit firefighting schools, writing articles for international firefighting magazines and hosting my own firefighter recruit seminars. Becoming a firefighter has definitely changed my life as well as my perspective on it. Devoting my time to help firefighter recruits achieve their dreams has become one of my favorite pass times.
